The East Sikkim or better known as Silk Route is an ancient trade route that connected India with China occupied Tibet. Today, it is a popular tourist destination that offers stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and a unique glimpse into the past.
This historical route used to be traversed by traders carrying silk, spices and other goods. Today you can follow in their footsteps and experience the same breathtaking landscapes.
One of the famous spot in this route is Zuluk or Dzuluk. This charming hill station is perched on a ridge overlooking the Himalayas, which offers stunning views of the mountains. Another famous spot is Gnathang or Nathang Valley. This picturesque valley is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. During this tour you can visit Old Baba Mandir. This shrine is dedicated to a soldier who died serving on the border.
You will see the breathtaking high-altitude glacial lake, known as Tsomgo or Changu Lake, which is surrounded by snow-capped mountain and adorned with colorful Tibetan prayer flags. Here you can take a Yak Safari, to experience the traditional mode of transport in Sikkim.

After arrival at NJP/IXB/Siliguri, meet with our company representative and then drive to Aritar/Mankhim (110 km., 5 hr., 4,950 ft.). On the way you will see the pristine Teesta River. After 3 hr. you will reach at Rongpo, which is the border of West Bengal and Sikkim. Here you have to show your I’d card to the Sikkim police for security checking. Then you will drive another 2 hr. to reach at Aritar/Mankhim, a haven for those seeking for peace and quiet. Aritar and Mankhim are two gems located next to each other, Mankhim is at the top of the hills, and Aritar is at the down of the hills. After arrival at Aritar/Mankhim check-in at hotel & get fresh. After lunch spend your leisure time by walking through the quaint village or you can visit the Mankhim Temple, a Rai temple offers an unique architecture and stunning 360 degree views of the valley below, with the emerald Lampokhari Lake as its centerpiece. On a clear day, you can get a glimpse of Mt. Kanchenjungha mountain range from this temple. Night stay at Aritar/Mankhim in a hotel/homestay.
After breakfast you will visit the Lampokhari Lake, where its mirror like surface reflects the grandeur of the surrounding mountains. You can take a boat ride on the boot shaped still waters of Lampokhari Lake and enjoy the serene atmosphere and the chirping of birds filling the air. After spend some time there, you will go towards Rongli (20 km., 1 hr., 5,200 ft.), where you have to complete the permit for your further journey towards Zuluk. After completing the permit process, you will go towards Padamchen (25 km., 2 hr., 7,000 ft.) via Quekhola Falls, also known as Kuikhola Falls or Kali Khola Falls. Its a hidden gem nestled amidst the verdant hills of East Sikkim. Padamchen whispers promises of serenity. Unlike its more famed counterparts, this village remains largely untouched by the tourist. It offers an authentic glimpse into Sikkimese village life and landscapes. After spend some time at this village you will be transferred to Zuluk or Dzuluk (15 km., 1 hr., 10,100 ft.). After arrival at Zuluk check-in at hotel & get fresh. After lunch spend your leisure time by walking through the quaint village where you will get a breathtaking canvas with panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Night stay at Zuluk in a hotel/homestay.
After breakfast drive from Zuluk to Gangtok (100 km., 6 hr., 5,450 ft.). On the way you will visit lots of sightseeing point. Your sightseeing will be start from Zuluk zig-zag road view point, a place where the breathtaking panorama of the Himalayas unfurls before you in a mesmerizing spiral. As you ascend the winding road, each turn reveals a new vista, more breathtaking than the last. After capturing the serpentine road through the landscape you will be headed towards Thambi view point, located at an altitude of 11,600 ft., offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga mountain range. After capturing the view here, you will go to Lungtung view point, which offers a stunning glimpse of surrounding hills. For the local people, Lungtung view point is not just a view point, it's a sacred place, where Tibetan prayer flags flutter in the wind, carrying whispered prayers to the heavens. Then you will go towards Nathang or Gnagthang valley (13,500 ft.), a land where the wind whispers tales of yaks grazing on emerald meadows and snow paints the landscape in shades of silver and white. It's a place where time slows down, worries melt away and the soul finds solace in nature's embrace. After taking some hot noodles at Nathang valley, you will visit Old Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to an Indian soldier who is revered as a saint. Here immerse yourself in the serenity of the surroundings and learn about the fascinating stories associated with the shrine. After that you will see Tukla valley, located at an altitude of 12,500 ft.,. Then your next point will be Kupup Lake or Elephant Lake. The most captivating feature is its unique shape. From a certain angles, it resembles a majestic elephant, its trunk dipping into the water and its tail resting on the shore. After clicking some photographs you will visit Yak Golf Course (13,025 ft.), which is according to Guinness World Records, the highest altitude golf course on Earth. Then you will see Memencho Lake from a view point, surrounded by mountains and crowned with snow-capped peaks, which reflected perfectly in its still waters. Then you will be headed to New Baba Mandir, a replica of Old and original Baba Mandir, which is dedicated to an Indian soldier who is revered as a saint. Then you will be headed to Tsomgo Lake, which is located 50 km. from Gangtok city, and it’s a high-altitude glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Here you will witness the breathtaking reflections of the surrounding peaks on the clear waters of the lake. You can enjoy a yak ride around the lake, to experience the traditional mode of transportation in this region. After completing the sightseeing you will be transferred to the hotel at Gangtok. In the evening you can visit M.G. Marg for some shopping or taste some delicious local cuisine. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel.
After breakfast drop at NJP/IXB/Siliguri via Rongpo (120 km., 5 hr.). Additional Sightseeing : If you have an extra day at Gangtok than you can do 10 point Gangtok local sightseeing. Points are : Ban Jhakri Falls, Bakthang Falls, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten, Ropeway, Tashi Viewpoint, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Handicraft Centre and Flower Show.
