Here you can see the breathtaking high-altitude glacial lake, known as Tsomgo or Changu Lake. It is a sight to behold. Surrounded by snow-capped mountain and adorned with colorful Tibetan prayer flags. You can also visit some ancient Buddhist monastery like Rumtek or Ranka, perched atop a hill offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere. You can take a thrilling cable car ride up to the top of Tashiling Secretariat and witness panoramic views of Gangtok and its surrounding areas.
If you are a foodie than you can taste some local delicacies like Momos, a steamed dumplings filled with meat or vegetables, or you can try Thukpa, the hearty noodle soup made with a flavorful broth, vegetables and meat.

After arrival at NJP/IXB/Siliguri, meet with our company representative and then drive to Gangtok (120 km., 4 hr., 5,450 ft.). On the way you will see the pristine Teesta River. After 3 hr. you will reach at Rongpo, which is the border of West Bengal and Sikkim. Here you have to show your I’d card to the Sikkim police for security checking. Then you will drive another 1 hr. to reach at Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. After arrival at Gangtok check-in at hotel & get fresh. After lunch you can visit M.G. Marg for some shopping or taste some delicious local cuisine. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel.
After breakfast go for full day Gangtok local sightseeing. You will start your local sightseeing from Ban Jhakri Falls and Bakthang Falls, two beautiful waterfall nestled in the hills and surrounded by lush greenery. Then you will visit Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a museum that houses a vast collection of Tibetan artifacts and exhibits. Next point is Do Drul Chorten, a Tibetan Buddhist stupa. After that you will be headed to the Ropeway to enjoy stunning aerial views of the Gangtok city and the surrounding mountains. After enjoying the view, you will visit Tashi Viewpoint, which offers mesmerizing panoramic view of Gangtok city and it’s surrounding mountains. Then you will visit Hanuman Tok and Ganesh Tok, two viewpoints dedicated to revered Hindu deities. Here you will witness the confluence of faith and breathtaking natural landscapes. Next you will be headed to the Handicraft Centre to see the local crafts and souvenirs, and here if you like anything than you can purchase also. Then you will visit the Flower Show, a vibrant display of exotic blooms from the region. After completing the 10 points of Gangtok local sightseeing, you will be back to the hotel. After lunch you can visit M.G. Marg. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel.
After breakfast you will go for a thrilling daytrip to Tsomgo (Changu) Lake and New Baba Mandir. First you will visit Tsomgo Lake, which is located 50 km. from Gangtok city, and it’s a high-altitude glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Here you will witness the breathtaking reflections of the surrounding peaks on the clear waters of the lake. You can enjoy a yak ride around the lake, to experience the traditional mode of transportation in this region. Then you will be headed to New Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to an Indian soldier who is revered as a saint. Here immerse yourself in the serenity of the surroundings and learn about the fascinating stories associated with the shrine. After completing the Tsomgo (Changu) Lake and New Baba Mandir excursion, you will be back to the hotel. After lunch you can visit M.G. Marg. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel. Optional : You can visit Nathula Pass which is located on the Indo-China border at an elevation of 14,440 ft. The distance is 60 km from Gangtok city and 20 km from Tsomgo (Changu) Lake. Indian nationals require a special permit to visit Nathula Pass and foreigners are not allowed.
After breakfast drop at NJP/IXB/Siliguri via Rongpo (120 km., 5 hr.). Additional info : If you have an extra day at Gangtok than you can visit Rumtek Monastery, located about 40 km from Gangtok city, also known as the Dharma Chakra Centre. This vibrant monastery was founded in 1730 by the ninth Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje, and it offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of Tibetan culture and spirituality.
