Another famous spot is Yumthang Valley, which transforms into a vibrant curtains of colors during spring, as a variety of rhododendrons and other wildflowers bloom in full glory. The valley becomes a haven for nature lovers and photographers, offering a spectacle that is truly breathtaking.

Itinerary

After arrival at NJP/IXB/Siliguri, meet with our company representative and then drive to Gangtok (120 km., 4 hr., 5,450 ft.). On the way you will see the pristine Teesta River. After 3 hr. you will reach at Rongpo, which is the border of West Bengal and Sikkim. Here you have to show your I’d card to the Sikkim police for security checking. Then you will drive another 1 hr. to reach at Gangtok. After arrival at Gangtok check-in at hotel & get fresh. After lunch you can visit M.G. Marg for some shopping or taste some delicious local cuisine. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel.

After breakfast you will go to Sikkim Tourism office, where you have to complete the permit for your further journey to North Sikkim. After completing the permit process, you will go towards Mangan (75 km., 3 hr., 3,150 ft.). On the way you will see Seven Sister Falls, surrounded by lush green ferns. Mangan is often dubbed the "Gateway to North Sikkim", but it is more than just a transit point - it's a destination in itself, radiating a charm that's both captivating and serene. Here you will see the mighty Teesta River snakes its way through the valley. After spend some time at Mangan, you will be headed towards Chungthang (35 km., 1 hr., 5,900 ft.). On the way you will see the Naga Falls, cascading down amidst lush greenery. Chungthang is nestled at the confluence of the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu river. Here you can take your lunch to taste some authentic Sikkimese cuisine. After that you will drive towards Lachen (35 km., 2 hr., 8,850 ft.). After arrival at Lachen, check-in at your hotel and get fresh. After getting fresh you can explore this quaint village to witness the unique blend of Buddhist and Lepcha traditions in the intricate architecture of the village houses. Also visit the Lachen Monastery, a 19th-century Buddhist Gompa, which offers panoramic views of the valley and housing priceless artifacts that whisper tales of the past. Night stay at Lachen in a hotel/homestay.

Early morning at 4 am go for excursion to Gurudongmar Lake (70 km., 17,800 ft., 4 hr.). On the way you will visit Thangu valley, for breakfast. During winter, the valley dons a pristine white blanket, the snow-covered peaks shimmering under the clear skies, offers a breathtaking spectacle. After completing the breakfast you will visit at Chopta valley view point, where in spring, rhododendrons paint the meadows with vibrant hues, while summer drapes them in a lush green carpet, autumn cloaks the hills in fiery oranges and reds and winter transforms the landscape into a pristine wonderland. After visiting the view point, you will be headed towards Gurudongmer Lake, a sacred jewel, which holds immense significance for Buddhists. The lake is so clear, that it reflects the blue sky like a flawless mirror. Here you will witness the colorful Tibetan prayer flags fluttering in the wind, carrying wishes and prayers to the heavens. Reaching Gurudongmar Lake is an adventure in itself. The high altitude and rough terrain demand physical and mental resilience. But the sense of accomplishment and the breathtaking views that await make the journey worthwhile. After spend some quality time and soak in the serene beauty of the turquoise lake and the surrounding snow-clad peaks, you will return to Lachen for Lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Lachung via Chungthang (55 km., 3 hr., 9,600 ft.). Lachung is another picturesque village in North Sikkim. On the way you will see the Bhim Nala Falls, cascade down a steep cliff face, surrounded by lush greenery and rocky mountains. The water plunges into a pool below, creates a mist that rises up into the air. After arrival at Lachung by late evening, check-in at hotel and get fresh. Night stay at Lachung in a hotel/homestay.

After an early breakfast, go for excursion to Yumthang Valley (30 km., 12,100 ft., 2 hr.). On the way you will visit Yumthang Hot Spring, located at an elevation of 11,800 ft., a natural wonder that promises a soak in steaming mineral-rich waters. This hot water spring is located in the Lachung Chu river course and can be reached through a pedestrian bridge over the Lachung Chu river. After spend some time at the hot spring, you will go to the Yumthang Valley, often dubbed the "Valley of Flowers", located inside the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, known for its vibrant wildflowers, snow-capped peaks, and the gentle melody of the Lachung Chu river. From March to May during the spring you will witness an explosion of colors as over 250 species of rhododendron paint the valley in a vibrant palette. During the Summer from June to August you can hike through the valley carpeted with wildflowers like daisies, gentians and anemones, which creates a vibrant mosaic under the clear blue sky. From September to November when the summer blooms give way to autumn foliage, the valley transforms into a canvas of golden yellow and fiery oranges. After that during the winter from December from February the valley drape itself in a pristine blanket of snow, which creates a magical winter wonderland. After spend some time and capture the view here, you will be back to Lachung for Lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Gangtok via Chungthang and Mangan (110 km., 5 hr.). After arrival at Gangtok, check-in at hotel and get fresh. Night stay at Gangtok in a hotel. Additional Sightseeing : If weather permits and roads are open than you can visit Zero Point from Yumthang Valley (30 km., 2 hr., 15,500 ft.). It's a place where the Himalayas seem to reach for the heavens and the air thins with a promise of adventure. After reach at Lachung from Yumthang, if you have extra time or an extra day than you can visit Katao from Lachung (30 km., 2 hr., 15,000ft.). Katao is dominated by the majestic presence of Mt. Katao, its snow-capped peak piercing the azure sky and offers breathtaking panoramas.

After breakfast drop at NJP/IXB/Siliguri via Rongpo (120 km., 5 hr.). Additional Sightseeing : If you have an extra day at Gangtok than you can do 10 point Gangtok local sightseeing. Points are : Ban Jhakri Falls, Bakthang Falls, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten, Ropeway, Tashi Viewpoint, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Handicraft Centre and Flower Show.
